Demo Versions
The demo versions are supplied
with 160 Meta-Patches (1920 Patches) and are restricted to 20
hours of use and you will not be able to save Meta-Patches.
During installation of the Minimonsta Demo the full manual will
be installed in pdf format. Please refer to the Quick Start
section of the manual, on page 9, to help understand the Minimonsta's
basic functions.
Overview
Simply put, the Minimonsta:Melohman
is a Minimoog emulation on steroids.
Until now, various Minimoog clones have simply attempted to
copy the original instrument and add the odd feature or so,
such as polyphony and an additional LFO, whereas the Minimonsta
takes a radically different look at an early vintage masterpiece
with a view to producing something previously attempted in software,
a truly dynamic, performance based, VA synth.
The original instrument was manufactured
between 1971 and 1982 and was an instant classic thanks to it's
'musician friendly' logical layout, tactile front panel, warm
oscillators and powerful 24dB lowpass filter. In it's time 13,000
Minimoog's were sold but in keeping with many other classic
instruments, if you want one now, you must be prepared to pay
handsomely.
The Minimonsta is a highly detailed
and accurate emulation of this original instrument which operates
on two levels.
Firstly, on the Mini level you
have all the features and sounds of the Minimoog including accurate
waveforms, a painstakingly accurate resonant filter, snappy
ADS envelope generators and the wonderful Mini loop-feedback
function. Using just these parameters, the Minimonsta has a
huge tonal range from fat to fierce and from searing to razor
sharp sizzles.
However, and secondly, there
is also another dark side to the beast where it's possible to
unleash a full-on Monsta.
In this guise it's possible to assign an LFO to almost any original
Mini parameter, MIDI modulate any original Mini parameter, and
dynamically morph between up to twelve Patches thanks to the
unique Melohman octave and feature set. It's also possible to
intelligently randomise sounds and take what is essentially
a simple synth into hitherto uncharted sonic territory.

Quotes
Rick
Wakeman:
"There's simply nothing out there that comes close
to this little beauty"
Steve
Winwood - (Traffic,
Spencer Davis, Solo Artist)
"I closed my eyes and could not believe it was not the real
thing"
Marius
De Vries -
(Bjork, Madonna, Moulin Rouge).
"Responsive, realistic, utterly 3-dimensional..... does to
the minimoog what the impOSCar did to the Oscar, and more....
another beautiful synthesizer from GForce. CONGRATULATIONS!"
Pascal Gabriel
- (Brian Ferry, Erasure)
"A brilliant piece of kit. I use a Moog Voyager, and this
sounds as good as if not better, it's fully automated, has mad
LFO possibilitiesÑand costs a lot less!"
Will
Gregory - (Goldfrapp)
"The ability to sculpt the sound using both hands makes the
Minimonsta a real musical instrument, rather than just a programming
tool"

Demos
Classic
Mini.mp3
Full of balls, bite and punch,
a classic Minimonster bass tone.

Big Monsters.mp3
In this example the LFO
variations applied to the main sound were triggered in real-time
while simultaneously playing two notes for the bassline. There's
no time set on the morph so each variation sounds instantly
Dark
Monster.mp3
Multiple Minimonsters. Again
we've used the patch morph function on the various sounds and
you can hear this particularly on the main leadline 32secs and
1.04. This is simply one note which morphs between various pitch
setups - there's a neat feature at work here whereby the harder
you hit a Melohman key the quicker the patch will morph, hence
the different portamento time effect evident. The bass-line
is a simple octave bass-line that morphs to some radical LFO
settings at the end of every other bar. Other things to listen
out for is the Unison part at 1.20secs and the Morphing FM effects
between 1.04 and 1.19. No other processing has taken place.
Glam
Monster.mp3
Features a drum parts from our
Acoustic Swing & Shuffle CD plus a few fat Monsters in a glam
stylee. Turn it up loud!
MiniFilterGroove.mp3
Takes a loop from Stylus and
processes it through the MiniMonster filter and on-board delay.
Within the Minimonster 12 different Patches form a Meta-Patch
and using the patch morphing function you can morph between
the individual Patches in real-time. In this case we set the
Morph time to instant. The distorted section from 58secs shows
the Mini Feedback loop at work.
MiniHollowLead.mp3
A more traditional Mini lead
sound, again, using the patch morphing to control the timbre
of the lead sound
SinisterMonster.mp3
A single note with multiple modulations
and a little channel pressure. Scary!
